Daily transactions count confirmed on-chain Bitcoin transactions. The metric gauges demand for block space, though it undercounts economic activity: a single transaction can batch hundreds of payments, and Lightning moves value off-chain entirely. Sustained changes still reveal shifting usage patterns, from payment adoption to inscription waves competing for the same limited space.
